Voice output communication devices allow students to engage
in conversations and communicate with others. This is another example that I
have learned about for assisted technology devices for students with disabilities.
Students who would benefit from using
these devices are unable to use natural speech or may have speech difficulties.
With any assisted technology device is it important for training to be done, so
that a student can experience success in using this kind of device. It is
important for students with communication needs to feel as though they can
communicate with their peers and the world around them.
One example that I
found is called DynaVox VMAx. Below is a video of the DynaVox VMAx and how it
is to be used.
