Scan and Read Software

Scan and read software is a software for computers that allows you to scan in a document to the computer and then reads aloud the document to the user.

This would be beneficial for students who have “print disabilities such as those who have difficulty reading paper based information due to dyslexia, visual impairment, learning difficulties or those whose physical impairments prevent them from handling and reading the printed word can benefit from having material scanned into the computer” (SNOW).

After watching the video, I learned how accommodating this software is for students with visual and learning disabilities. Any teacher who has a student with these types of disabilities should really look into scan and read software.
