The next stop on my learning
journey is at the Wiki Site for UDL. At this website, it has several resources
that provide assisted technology tools for the classroom teacher to use to make
accommodations for the needs of their students. Here is a summary of some of
the resources I found useful to use.
·
Graphic
organizers are a great tool to use during literacy. Through this website it
allows the student to do step by step organizers for character maps, conflict
maps, Venn diagrams, timelines etc. http://www.thinkport.org/technology/template.tp
·
Text- to- Speech
is another great tool shown on the Wiki website. Using the text-to-speech tool
in the classroom has two main focuses:
1.
It is essential for struggling readers; when text is digital it is now
accessible
2. It
supports the writing process, especially when editing and revising work
Using this tool helps accommodate for students who struggle
reading and allow them to highlight words they can’t read and allows an oral
reading of the text. http://udltechtoolkit.wikispaces.com/Free+text+to+speech
·
For math
tools, the Wiki site has great resources for students to use that help with
mechanical issues, visual assistants, and tools that help with understanding of
math concepts.
·
My favorite tool I used was an interactive
geoboard for students to use online to help with math manipulatives. Here is
the link to explore with the geoboard:
These are just a few of the resources I explored at the Wiki
website. For more resources and tools go to http://udltechtoolkit.wikispaces.com.

I absolutely loved the Wiki Toolkit and plan on using it in the future. The Geoboard is also a great hands on tool that can be used on a variety of subjects in mathematics. Great find!!
